Darren is one of Australia’s most established financial writers with 15 years’ experience as a journalist, editor and corporate communications professional.

Darren began his specialisation in the finance sector in 2015, joining leading industry publisher Rainmaker Group. Here he held a wide range of senior editorial and writing roles, including Editor of Financial Standard, Associate Editor of FS Super – The Journal of Superannuation, and Managing Editor of consumer title Money magazine. Through these roles Darren has built a strong understanding across the super, investment, retirement, broking and advice sectors.

Prior to joining the financial sector, Darren spent five years working as a journalist at the Mudgee Guardian, honing his ability to craft news angles, headlines and stories that capture the imagination of everyday Australians.

In 2020, Darren moved to an in-house role where he developed his corporate communication skills managing content strategy, PR and external communications with Mortgage Choice and REA Group.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communication – Journalism) and Bachelor of Sports Studies from Charles Sturt University.

Outside of work you’ll find Darren watching sport, curating his Spotify and enjoying time with family and friends.
