Emily Parkinson
Emily brings more than 20 years’ experience as a business journalist, writer and corporate communications consultant across Sydney, Melbourne and London.
She joined Honner from Vanguard where she was Content Lead for five years, creating and delivering strategic, multi-channel content programs for one of the world’s leading investment brands. This included member communications for the launch of Vanguard Super in 2022.
Prior to moving into a corporate role, Emily worked for many years as a financial journalist with prestigious titles such as Bloomberg, Shares Magazine (London), Dow Jones (London & Sydney) and The Australian Financial Review. She has also worked agency side, spending three years with another specialist corporate and financial PR agency based in Sydney.
Emily brings senior stakeholder engagement skills and knowledge across a range of sectors including financial markets, superannuation, investments, technology and aged care. She brings deep experience developing engaging content for B2B audiences. Emily is also well practiced in issues and crisis management, leading the media and public affairs function for Aged & Community Services Australia during the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety (2018).
She holds a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Melbourne, Graduate Certificate in Professional Editing and Publishing from the University of Technology Sydney and an M.A Writing and Literature from Deakin University. Emily is based in Melbourne.
In her spare time, Emily is happiest at the beach with her family and two labradors, chilling by the fire with a book or in the kitchen working on her ‘foodie credentials.’
